A Great Start to a Great Trip

On Friday me and the kids flew out to California. It was my first flight with 2 kids. The flight was easy...a piece of cake! It was the security line that was crazy. I had my double stroller and then Beckham was in the car seat in the stroller. When I went through, I had to take Beckham out of the car seat and then put it through the conveyor machine. Then they wanted me to collapse my stroller and put it through also. I told her it wouldn't fit, but she didn't believe me, so I had to ask a stranger to hold my baby and then 'attempt' to put the stroller through but...shocker...it didn't fit. So then I get my baby back and we all 3 walked through the metal detector and it kept beeping. I had no idea what it was! So they told me that all 3 of us have to be searched. So we go over to the searching section only to find my cell phone in my back pocket. I'm an idiot! But we still have to be searched. So I get searched while I am holding beckham, then they search him, then they search Berkeley with her arms up and everything. It was a pretty funny experience.

Saturday night my sister Ashley surprised us girls and my mom with tickets to Grease. It was SOOOO amazing! Of course the singing was flawless, the dancing was so energetic, and it made me want to have gone to high school in the 50's. We had so much fun with each other. It really amazes me sometimes how similar us sisters are even though we are SO different. We were laughing and giggling at all the same jokes in the exact same way. We really had a lot of fun together.

Sunday we went to my sister Danielle's ward and surprised my mom by singing in sacrament. Danielle arranged 'I Often Go Walking' and we all 4 sang. It was beautiful and both my parents loved it. It was very special. Then after church we went to Danielle's for lunch and my grandma came over. It was a real fun day. My sister Whitney watched Beckham while I took a nap, and that was the best mother's day present ever! And sorry to Grandma...Beckham pooped on her lap and she had a big yellow stain on her pants all day. I felt so bad!

Happy Mother's Day to my mom, grandma, mother in law, sister, and sister in laws. You are all amazing mothers and are all examples to me!

My Mother's Day Gift

This little girl right here is the only mother's day gift I need. She is the sweetest, most tender hearted, funniest, goofiest, happiest 2 year old I know. She is my little best friend. She makes me laugh so many times in the day. She always makes me smile. She gives the best cheek kisses. She tells me "I lub you mommy". She kisses every boo boo. She loves to hop around. She loves her princesses. She loves her "Geckham". She is the best swimmer ever. She loves cereal just like her mommy. She loves her friends. She loves her cousins. She loves her friends moms. She 'mostly' obeys her mommy. She draws pretty circles. Shes a pro on her elmo car. Shes afraid of slides. She is so smart it amazes me every day. Her 's' sound is a 'th' sound. She loves the sun and the moon. Most of all she loves me. That is the best mother's day present ever!

a 2 year old weekend

This last weekend I watched my 2 year old nephew Clay. After offering, I immediately wondered what in the heck I was thinking....I have a 2 month old for heavens sake! But it actually turned out to be ok. Berkeley and Clay had a great little time in their little 2 year old world. They never left each others side. They did every thing together....ate together, played together, ran around outside together, fed the ducks together (yes, they are still coming around), bathed together, watched tv together, and got their diapers changed together. I'm not going to lie though, I am paying for it today. I am extremely tired! It was fun though. Berkeley had a great little 2 year old time.

Am I getting Old???

I started playing in an indoor soccer league this month and it has been so much fun! It has gotten my butt in gear and given me a break from mom hood. Last night After about 35 minutes I came out of the game and leaned over and my back totally gave out on me. I couldn't stand up for a few minutes, and when I finally stood up I had to hold on to the wall to stand up straight. It was so painful to put any kind of weight on it. So of course today my back is killing me and I have been hunched over for half of the day. A couple of times while holding Beckham in his car seat I have had to stop walking and hold on to the wall for a minute. It hurts when I sit, when I chagne positions, and when I walk. This brings me to my question.... Am I getting Old? Is that why I threw my back out? Is my body deteriorating right before my eyes??? All I know is that I really need to figure all this out or I will not be able to hold my children for very much longer!

To top it off I'm pretty sure I have tendinitis in my bad knee as well. I had reconstructive surgery on my knee almost 10 years ago, and now it is constantly swollen and painful. I'm
pretty sure my body is in constant need of Motrin. Gosh...what is happening to my body!?!?!

{im not even going to mention the things that really make me old, like when aubrey my sis in law tells me 25 is old, and teenagers dont know who kurt cobain is}

our new pets

We have had a new addition in our house hold. They are the ducks that reside in our back yard....more specifically, our pool. It is the same 2 ducks, a male and a female, and they come every day. I have seen them at night too sleeping on the deck, or sleeping in the water. In the past couple of years we have found duck eggs in the back yard, so we are hoping they lay eggs again this year....then if that comes true, we will try to take the eggs and take care of them ourselves. {The eggs never seem to make it to an actual baby duck} So the highlight of our days are to go out and feed the ducks. Berkeley has really enjoyed it.

This day was extra special. They came right up to our back door so we fed them and tried to get them to come as close to us as possible. It was so fun.

Which is Which?

So basically my kids are identical when they are babies. I am anxious to see if they stay looking the same or if Beckham develops his own look different from Berkeley's.

So Far This Week...

- Todd has come home each night at around 2-3 am from studying....yes you heard me right. 2 AM!!!! And that is starting his day around 10 am. Note to self ...{don't ever go to law school}

- I ran for the first time since AUGUST! I lasted a whole 15 minutes, but I plan to get it back to at least 30 minutes very quickly.

- Berkeley went pee on the toilet for the very first time. She is "that" kid who is pretty stubborn with the whole potty thing and has never gone. I practically freaked out when she did it, and now she does not want to do it again. She will be 5 when she finally gets potty trained, I swear!

- Beckham slept 7 hours straight. It was such a glorious morning after. I felt so rejuvenated and refreshed and it gave me a glimpse of getting normal sleep again.
