Quote of the Day

"I could like take a chip and dip it in it..... if it didn't smell like poop."

Berkeley's Birthday

Berkeley turned one last Tuesday. I cant believe it! She is so old. I am not the type to throw a big expensive birthday party for a kid who doesn't enjoy what is going on around her and wont remember a thing. So we just did the family thing and gave her a cake. Monday night we spent with Todd's family and then Tuesday night we spent with my family. By the way, yes, I went to California for the week. Surprisingly, Berkeley was not into the cake either times. We basically had to shove her in it, and even still, she wasn't interested. But she was cute anyways. So I officially have a toddler, and no longer have an infant. SAD!

I Can't Believe this Phase is Starting Again

Last night THIS happened. My brother and his wife were out of town and my sister watched his 6 kids. Well, at about 12:30 they showed up, and I totally saw them, so I started my car to scare them and they all ran into the back yard. Then I grabbed the hose and got them all soaked, but it really didn't do any good, because they kept on toilet papering. I told them to stop, and that they were caught, but they kept going......and going.......and going.............until I had to get Todd to lay a little man power on them. It was pretty funny. I enjoyed chasing them around the yard with a hose. I'm not going to lie, it is a great feeling to have water fights in the middle of the night. I wish I could paint a picture for you all of how often our house was toilet papered in my life time. I had 3 sisters older then me, and they had enemies and crushes, so LITERALLY almost every weekend it would happen. We had 2 enormous trees in our front yard, and no joke, they permanently had toilet paper in them. It was good times.

My Blue Bed and Favortie Baby in the World

First off, I know everyone loves their kids, but lately Berkeley just keeps getting funnier and funnier. I cannot get enough of her. I enjoy her and being a mom SO much.
Now, this is a bed that my sister got about 10 years ago from IKEA for about $100. She had painted it black for her room, and just recently gave it to me, and I painted it my favorite color ever, light blue. I LOVE how it turned out. This is my guest room, its a little frilly, but I love the room as a whole. Thanks Danielle!

My Recent Random Thoughts

After much thought and consideration we are no longer buying our house. Todd was not in love with it and since we bought it, the market has gone even lower, so its not as good as a deal as we thought, so no more new house. It is probably a good thing, because I just know to always trust Todd on this kind of stuff and it will work out. But I am sad, and I have had a little going away party in my heart for my house that I never lived in.

I know its not anytime soon, but seriously, when is this hot weather going away! Every summer I try to remind myself why I live here and why thousands of other people live here too. Its pretty frightening to think that if power went out, people would just start going crazy left and right because it is just so insanely hot. Today I got home from just normal day to day things, and I was SOAKED in sweat! I'm so over this heat right now! I'm ready to wear my black long sleeve shirts, my awesome assortment of hoodies, jeans, and closed toed shoes for once!

Tonight was my first soccer practice as a real coach and it got me thinking about how much I loved playing soccer as a kid. I miss being on a team and playing a sport I love, and getting the rush that comes with it. Why don't they do these kinds of leagues for adults. You know half of us adults are totally still wishing we were 16 again.... I guess they do make the leagues, they are just so minute that you don't ever hear about them, let alone participate in them. I just wish I did a once a week thing...I would love it so much.

Why is it that every year around fall the TV season premieres start a little bit later and later. Its driving me inane how long I have patiently waited for my favorite shows to come back into my life. The networks need to stop teasing me with their trickery and get cracking all ready!

A Lovely Sunday Afternoon

We had a lovely Sunday today. It started off with church, then lunch, then a WONDERFUL long nap. Then we went over to my brothers house for dinner. My mom is in town, and my cousin and her family just moved here, so we got to spend some quality time with them. It was really fun. Berkeley thinks shes funny and was crawling in the funniest places. Shes one in two weeks and it is REALLY time that she starts walking. She is so heavy now that you cant hold her for super long, and you cant just set her down anywhere, so its seriously time to start crackin.

In other news, my brother Christian just had his fourth kid, a little boy named Grady. I cant wait to see him. It is grand kid number 20 on my side...pretty crazy! Also new news, starting Tuesday night I am going to be the Assistant coach for my 14 year old nieces soccer team. You have no idea how excited I am about this! First, it is so fun to hang out with 13 and 14 year old girls, if you are down, you seriously need to try this for a good pick me up, second, I haven't played soccer forever and am so excited to get to play twice a week, third, I am going to run with them, so hopefully I can get in a little better shape, and fourth, my brother is the Coach so it will be extra fun to hang out and secretly make fun of the girls together.
