My Nephew Braden was just diagnosed with Type I Diabetes this last week. He is 10 years old. I was actually there when they all found out and it was so heart breaking to see him react. He is old enough to understand the life change that will happen and he was just heart broken. After a few days though he toughened up and is now giving himself shots. I guess it has been present in his body for about 5 years but is just coming about now. He has previously had lots of headaches and had not been gaining weight for a while. Now that he has started his insulin he has more energy, has a bigger appetite, and no longer has headaches. My poor sister has a totally crazy life already with her 5 kids, 2 of which are still toddler age. But if anyone can take this on its her. Braden has been so brave and I know will continue on in his life being brave and responsible with this new journey in his life.

what a cute kid. And so brave to he giving himslef shots. wow.
He is so cute! I have two brother in laws with it and they were about his age when they were diagnosed. They are so normal and have learned how to control it. I still get scared every morning and have to call to make sure they are awake. Good luck and let me know if he wants to talk to someone!
What a stud- and such a sad story...I'm so glad he feels like a 'cool' kid having been diagnosed now.
shopping today was so much fun- i'm totally jazzed about our sales. I think we might just be set...
i hate/love the gap.
Jillian you are so sweet to write that about your nephew.
We love having you, Todd and Berkeley living with us. Its like a slumber party everynight!
Thanks Jill. How did you get that pic? He is doing great, it's making us all count carbs and eat better so I guess that's a plus. Did you get some good sale stuff at the Gap? I wish that deal would have worked out, I just spent way too much money. Talk to you soon. Thanks again!
