all things considered in my life right now, this mothers day was so sweet, spiritual, empowering, peaceful, calming, and loving all rolled into one. i went into the day not thinking that im so excited to get a break from my kids, but that i am so grateful for my kids and i am their mother. i also went into the day not expecting any gifts or cards from my kids, but instead, my berkeley got up in church, and made my heart absolutely melt by watching her sing a mothers day song to me. she came back and told me how happy she felt after singing that song, and that she loves me, and that was the best mothers day present she could of given me. i also went into the day not just appreciating my mother, but all mothers. all the mothers who have their own families, and have taken so much time to help me as i have been in need. i now have a new perspective on women, and womanhood, and the bond that we women have. there have been women who have been there for me, not judged me, have helped me, have loved me, have visited me, have sacrificed for me, have been a friend, and have let me literally cry on their shoulder. they have taken me from a terrible place and have helped lift me up. women can be inspiring, teaching, loving, brutally honest, motivating, but mostly are just your friend. as i have gone through the most trying time in my life, these women have saved me.
thank you to all the women who help one another, and the women in my life who help me be a better person.
