Just Call Me Money Bags

Yesterday I decided to finally gather up all my spare change and cash it in. We had a huge mug full, and 2 separate drawers full, which all had been accumulating for quite some time. It filled up the 2 bags as you can see.....it weighed in at 14 pounds.....and the grand total........

$112

And that is after the coin machine took out 8%! Spare change is the best thing in the world! So we treated ourselves with our new found fortune and we went to the AZ State Fair, which was SOOO fun. We went with Todd's little brother Ashton and 2 of his friends. Todd and Ashton didn't go on any "big kid" rides, but I still went on a lot, and I'm not going to lie, I had a HUGE headache when I got home! But it was still worth it!

Trip to the Thrift Store

I cannot remember the last time I was at a thrift store, but today I went and it was pretty awesome. I was in search of a cool unique end table,( which I found, but that will be shown later so I can have the before and after) and I found this. A Christmas Tree. I was so excited to see it because growing up I would help my grandma set up her Christmas decorations up each year and she had one of these and it was my FAVORITE because I loved to put up all the individual lights. So now I have my very own and I will think of her every time I see it. It is about 12 inches tall, and I had to steal those little lights from some of the other trees to get a full tree for me, but it was worth it! Oh, and $4 was a little help too! But....(wink wink) I am still hoping to someday get the real authentic one that I have so many memories with! (wink wink)

I Got the Okay!

In my deepest long lost, never to come true dreams, I have always wanted to decorate my house my OWN way, and not the compromised way that Todd and I want. So as we were chatting about how much we love our cute quaint little house, Todd said those sweet words, yes, you can decorate it like that. You have NO idea what this meant to me.

So I am starting with some throw pillows and some curtains because I am not changing any of my furniture...just the small, but ever so important things. I will eventually work in maybe a new lamp, some new side tables and paint my 2 desks, but until then, here are some of the pillows I am trying to decide on.

I Need to be a Mother of Five More Often

I am in California right now staying at my sister Danielle's house watching her 4 kids with Berkeley tagging along for about a week. It has actually been really fun and not hard at all. She has a 2 year old, so him and Berkeley are having so much fun together and the other kids are just fun for her to watch. Today was quite an eventful day. In the morning I took 2 of the kids to the park for about an hour and met up with a friend. This was Berkeley's first time at the park and she was SO funny. She would get to the top of the slides, then get on her belly and slide down all by herself. No one ever showed her what to do or anything. The first time she did it I could not stop laughing. Then the older kids got home from school at 3 and at 3:30 me and the 3 oldest kids left for Disneyland and left the 2 youngins at home with the babysitter. We went for about 4 hours and it was so fun. They have annual passes and I used my sisters (no I didnt lie....) so it was somewhat a free trip besides the outrageous prices of parking, dinner, churros, and a rice krispie treat. It was cute to see everything decorated for Halloween. So in a nut shell, being a mother of 5 is not so bad. I am pretty proud of myself for hanging in so well. Now I just cant wait until I am a REAL mother of five.... ok, maybe I can.

OMG!!!

OH MY GOSH!!! Berkeley took her first steps today....finally! This girl can stand for an hour but wont walk. Im talking wont take a step unless she is holding on to something. So she took like 6 steps today and I about freaked. I was kind of screaming like crazy, I was so excited. The sad part of it all is that I am in California watching my sisters kids and Todd is home, so he hasn't witnessed the steps. If she officially starts walking this week I would feel SO bad that Todd couldn't see. So Im crossing my fingers....I hope she gets crackin soon!
